Alex is a Software Architect at Playtech, Lecturer in 2 universities (3 courses, Software Systems Monitoring is one of them) and co-Founder of Timetrix, streaming engine for time series data. His main points of interest are data science and machine learning, distributed systems, graph computations and domain design. Alex finds it hard to define where he is from, as he says: “I am some kind of nomad, digital nomad. I am from Tallinn, but lived in Germany, Sweden and the UK. I have been in IT development for more than 17 years, but actually everything had begun much earlier. My classmate and I wrote our first game for Soviet computer when we were 13 — it was written on Basic. A spaceship bombed tanks while tanks tried to hit the spaceship.” Having shifted from Developer to DevOps Engineer, Alex has always been interested in technology, development, math and computer science and has worked in diverse fields at all levels of abstraction, from micro controllers to high-level declarative programming and all points in between.

You’ve probably written a hundred abstracts in your day, but have you come up with a template that really seems to resonate? Go back through your past webinar inventory and see what events produced the most registrants. Sure – this will vary by topic but what got their attention initially was the description you wrote.

Paint a mental image of the benefits of attending your webinar. Often times this can be summarized in the title of your event. Your prospects may not even make it to the body of the message, so get your point across immediately.  Capture their attention, pique their interest, and push them towards the desired action (i.e. signing up for your event). You have to make them focus and you have to do it fast. Using an active voice and bullet points is great way to do this.
