Many companies are working to define their expectations for the SRE role and the SRE toolchain, which, like the role itself, continues to evolve. The tools SREs use at any given time will depend on where an organization is in their SRE journey. Less mature organizations will tend to use more specialized operations tools while more mature organizations will see more convergence between SRE and software engineering toolchains. So, while it’s certain that there’s no “one-size-fits-all” set of tools, teams will experiment with and adapt with the right tools as they seek new, efficient ways to bring greater reliability to everything they do.

Jason Hand, DevOps Champion and advisor to VictorOps
Serving as a DevOps Champion and advisor to VictorOps, Jason Hand writes, presents, and coaches on the principles and nuance of DevOps and modern incident management practices. Named "DevOps Evangelist of the Year" by DevOps.com in 2016, Jason recently authored a new book on Site Reliability Engineering.
In addition to SRE, Jason has authored books with O'Reilly Media on the subject of post-incident reviews and Chatops.
DevOpsDays Rockies organizer and host of the Front-range Site Reliability Meetup, Jason is dedicated to the latest trends in technology, sharing the lessons learned, and helping people continuously improve their IT and software development practices.
Jason is also a co-host on the popular podcast on building communities in Tech called "Community Pulse".
Leonard Gram, Core Developer, Grafana Labs
Leonard Gram is a curious geek who generally tends to find himself solving problems somewhere between Backend Development and Operations, but who cares deeply about the whole product lifecycle. Currently he's a Developer at Grafana Labs, working on how to make the world (or at least its systems) more understandable. Before that, he spent a number of years figuring out how to run the infrastructure supporting Minecraft together with a small team of Developers and a healthy dose of automation.
