Four years ago, Intelliflo, a Fintech company with ambitions to drive the financial services industry forward with leading-edge technology and intuitive solutions, began their journey to modern software delivery spearheaded by their head of DevOps, Marc Pearce. The company offers predominantly SaaS products, which means that the reliability, security and efficiency of their applications are vital to their ongoing success. The first step to improvement was continuous delivery as the DevOps team shifted to a microservices approach that enabled more frequent, repeatable and incremental deployments to production environments.

Once they were satisfied with the increased velocity and quality of code deployed into production, the next step was to tap into the metrics captured from their delivery pipelines to get a more granular view of what 'good' looked like. Now, Marc and his team are seeking to empower their developers with the next wave of software engineering innovation by adopting an internal developer portal (IDP) and AI for the next iteration on their continuous journey with software innovation.

In this Techstrong Learning Experience, Marc Pearce, head of DevOps at Intelliflo, will discuss his journey with modern software delivery with Martin Reynolds, field CTO at Harness. Join them to learn from Marc’s experience during a discussion of the peaks and valleys of the Intelliflo story and take away practical ideas to implement in your organization right away.

Key Takeaways:

  • How to migrate from monolith to microservices at speed and scale
  • Insights into how metrics can be used to drive improvements in efficiency and reliability
  • Ways to drive accountability and control through service ownership

My passion for Software Delivery is driven by facilitating success, fostering blameless accountability, and balancing development experience with security and governance requirements. DevSecOps practices impact the entire software lifecycle, and helping teams deliver exceptional software that is high quality, high value and secure is my ultimate goal. Harness, a customer-focused company, aligns with my values and commitment to improving engineers' lives, making it the perfect next step in my career. My 30+ years in software development, architecture, and delivery in multiple technical environments and sectors ultimately led me to a transformative journey at Advanced, beginning as an Application Architect, and later becoming a Development Manager for 20+ educational products. In 2013, I spearheaded Advanced’s cloud migration, marking my introduction to DevOps and the creation of Advanced's first DevOps team. As Director for DevOps and IaaS, I built dedicated squads and the broader community, mentoring and training to deliver at scale.

What You’ll Learn in This Webinar

You’ve probably written a hundred abstracts in your day, but have you come up with a template that really seems to resonate? Go back through your past webinar inventory and see what events produced the most registrants. Sure – this will vary by topic but what got their attention initially was the description you wrote.

Paint a mental image of the benefits of attending your webinar. Often times this can be summarized in the title of your event. Your prospects may not even make it to the body of the message, so get your point across immediately.  Capture their attention, pique their interest, and push them towards the desired action (i.e. signing up for your event). You have to make them focus and you have to do it fast. Using an active voice and bullet points is great way to do this.

Always add key takeaways. Something like this....In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • You know you’ve cringed at misspellings and improper grammar before, so don’t get caught making the same mistake.
  • Get a second or even third set of eyes to review your work.
  • It reflects on your professionalism even if it has nothing to do with your event.
