This technical hands-on workshop will give developers the opportunity to dive deep into PagerDuty and some of our top integrations with AWS, EventBridge and Amazon CloudWatch and learn more about process automation and newly-released automated diagnostics for AWS.

In this workshop, you will dig into how PagerDuty can consume CloudWatch Alarm notifications as alerts to mobilize the right teams.  In addition, you will leverage EventBridge to take simple remediative actions - such as restarting an EC2 instance. You also will learn the basics of Runbook Automation to automatically retrieve diagnostic data from CloudWatch Logs and surface the data to responders.

Led by solutions architects from AWS and PagerDuty, this three-hour hands-on workshop will give you the opportunity to test out the latest integrations in a sandbox environment.

Key Takeaways:

  • Learn how to send alerts to PagerDuty, create incidents and notify responders
  • Perform actions within AWS by leveraging EventBridge
  • Automatically retrieve diagnostics to improve triage

Workshop pre-requisites:

  • Be on the lookout for more information in your inbox for the prerequisites.
  • Users will need to request a Runbook Automation trial instance prior to the workshop.
  • Users will need Administrative privileges for an AWS account. They can sign up for a Free Tier account for the workshop.
  • As part of the workshop instructions, users will be guided through the signup process of a Developer Instance of PagerDuty.

What You’ll Learn in This Webinar

You’ve probably written a hundred abstracts in your day, but have you come up with a template that really seems to resonate? Go back through your past webinar inventory and see what events produced the most registrants. Sure – this will vary by topic but what got their attention initially was the description you wrote.

Paint a mental image of the benefits of attending your webinar. Often times this can be summarized in the title of your event. Your prospects may not even make it to the body of the message, so get your point across immediately.  Capture their attention, pique their interest, and push them towards the desired action (i.e. signing up for your event). You have to make them focus and you have to do it fast. Using an active voice and bullet points is great way to do this.

Always add key takeaways. Something like this....In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • You know you’ve cringed at misspellings and improper grammar before, so don’t get caught making the same mistake.
  • Get a second or even third set of eyes to review your work.
  • It reflects on your professionalism even if it has nothing to do with your event.
